About
Hello and welcome to Prog Slob, yet another music blog. The focus here is progressive rock and progressive metal, but we feel free to wander the path a bit to talk about influences, conjecture, and other happenings when they fit the bill.

WTF is up with the name?
I think most of us in this genre are a bit of rock snobs, and have discriminating tastes toward what we like to hear. (No shame in having an interest in music beyond whatever MTV is pushing at the moment.) And while searching for a unique hostname, I got stuck in this rut that anything with “prog” or “rock” in it would end up being 96 characters long and not that unique. (”progrockandmetalreviewsforu.tv”) That’s when I started thinking about ProgSnob.com. Unfortunately, there are a lot of google hits on the term “Prog snob”, and the hostname looks looks like ProgsNob.com. That’s when I stumbled upon the idea of registering ProgSlob.com.
And yes, we are slobs. I am not a neat-freak or a perfectionist, so the name fits. And it didn’t show up all over google. So ProgSlob was born.

You can contact the staff using this nifty form below, or by email at the address ‘info’ at this site’s hostname. (We’d post a link, but we hate spam-harvesting robots. We also hate robots from the future who try to kill Jon Konrath, mistakenly thinking he’s John Connor, but that’s another story.)
